If you must miss a class, be sure to contact your teacher by phone to ask what you missed. Then be fully prepared for the next class.

Please be sure to put your shoes on the shoe racks.

At this time the Administrator welcomes the children to school and goes over some of the current events going on in the student's lives and/or in the center and world.

Salaat

All students are expected to participate in the Salaat. Parents are welcome to join  Salaat to set the example for their children.

Personal property

If a student brings in an item for sharing, make sure it is appropriate for the school. Any item brought in for after school recreation has to be kept in a bag until after school hours. If they are not put away for the duration of the school, the items will be confiscated and returned only to the parent. Students assume responsibility for loss or damage to their clothing, equipment or books.

Lost and Found

Lost and found collections are located in the lost and found bins. Please label student clothing and periodically check the lost and found bins.

Preparation for Class

The students are expected to come to class prepared with needed materials. Students should always come to class with two sharpened pencils and or two pens. In addition students should have books and other required classroom supplies. Parents are encouraged to check the binders regularly to keep in touch with what is being taught and what homework has been assigned.

Progress Reporting to Parents

Report cards are issued at mid term and at the end of the year. The teachers will inform the students of upcoming tests. The parents should stay in regular contact with the teacher so that there are not any surprises at the end of the year. Parent Teacher conference will be held after midterm and the parents will be notified about the date and time in advance.

Restrooms

We encourage the students to use the restrooms during the non-class hours.

Supervision

We make an effort to provide supervision on school grounds through out the school hours. We ask that students should not arrive earlier than 10:30 and leave no later than 2:15. Please be prompt in this aspect because our school volunteers also lead busy lives. If there are some unforeseen circumstances, please notify us at the school. Make sure you personally talk to one of the administrators. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Telephone use

The students are discouraged from using the Center’s phone. We ask that any pick up arrangements be made before school. In dire need a student will need the permission of one of the administrators to use the phone.

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Sickness or Injury

Illness- if a student becomes ill, the parents will be called to come and pick up the child.
Injury- if a student is injured at school, he/she should report it to one of the school staff. Parents will be contacted if more than basic first aid is required.

Emergency contacts

It is essential that emergency cards are complete, signed and up to date in the school records. Fill out your child's emergency card completely at the time of the registration and then call the school with any change, especially phone numbers.

Homework

Homework is an integral part of the learning process. Teachers will be assigning homework regularly. We understand the fact that children get quite a bit of homework from regular school. Our policy is to not burden the children but to reinforce the class work. We will keep the homework at a minimum. Please emphasis the importance of school homework to your child.

Safety

For their safety, children are NOT allowed to wait outside of the building during pickup. Children of Level 1, 2, and 3 are required to be signed out by parents at pick up time.

Parents as Volunteers

We encourage parental assistance in all areas of our school: classroom substituting, lunch time monitors, field trips, fundraisers, picnic etc. Please contact Sr. Ruxana or Sr. Fauzia if you want to become a volunteer.

School Closing:

Emergency school closing will be posted on the website and also on the answering machine at the center. You can also call the respective teachers to get the information.

NOTE TO THE PARENTS

Parents play a vital role in the success of their children's studies. To ensure that each child reaches his/her full potential, please take the following steps:

1. Keep your child's attendance regular and on time.

2. Make sure your child has had a good breakfast and a proper night's      sleep. Sleepy heads and hungry tummies do not function well in class.

3. Pick up your children promptly after Zuharain Salat at 2:15 pm.

4. Please inform the school of any planned absences. It is best to contact your child's teacher, so that you can make note of what assignments will be missed.
